DRAFT Privacy Statement

This privacy statement is still undergoing review and should not be considered final until that review is complete. In the meantime, it is intended to provide some information about intended use of user-related data collected by the system.

The entourage3D database collects and stores data about members and member activities. In particular, it stores member account data (personal ID, password and email address) and member transaction data concerning date and time of uploads or downloads from the archive. Some of this information (recent uploads and downloads, email address) is available to other members, as are the calculated "community participation scores" of each member. The use of such personal information within the member community is the main way that personal data might be made available to others. In no instance will identifiable member data be shared with non-member commercial entities or with other research groups.

The user activity data is also used to support the research agenda of the project through tracking of total uploads, downloads, interaction frequency, inter-session interval, etc. When used this way, member information is aggregated with that of other members and/or is not associated with a particular member acccount ID.

As part of the research project, we may occasionally send members email asking them to participate in surveys. Such participation is voluntary and will in no way affect member accounts.

At any time, by writing to the address below from the registered email address, a member may request that their user record be deleted. Such deletion from the active database will generally be done within a few days.

Due to the ongoing and evolving nature of this project, we reserve the right to alter this privacy statement at any time, an event which will be indicated on the site home page by a change in the date associated with this document.

We make no promise of continued operation or accessibility of this server, the database, or the data in it.
